Wildlife: Wildlife Tour itinerary - Kanha Wildlife Sanctuary

wildlife Wide Aware has planned tours (3 days 4 nights) to the Kanha Wildlife Sanctuary o­n the 12th May and 14th May 2007. You may also book tours to suit dates of your choice, if you are a group of 6 people or more.

The schedule is as follows:

     

Day 1

Leave Mumbai by the overnight train for Nagpur

Day 2

Reach Nagpur in the morning and transfer to Kanha - Kisli by jeep.

Room allocation, and time for rest.

Wildlife information and nature walk in the afternoon

Free time in the evening followed by dinner and sleep

Day 3

Early morning wildlife safari

Back to the resort for lunch

Some rest time

Afternoon safari

Free time in the evening followed by dinner and sleep

Day 4

Early morning wildlife safari

Back to the resort for lunch

Depart for Nagpur station. Travel overnight for Mumbai

Day 5

Reach Mumbai in the morning

The cost for this package is Rs. 11,500/- from Mumbai to Mumbai for twin sharing air conditioned accommodation, with 3 tier AC travel from Mumbai to Nagpur and back, Air conditioned vehicles for the transfers from Nagpur station to the Kipling's court resort at Pench and back, open jeeps for the safaris and luxurious meals.

For a simpler package and basic dormitory accommodation and simple food, the costs will be Rs.5,500/- The safaris will still happen in open jeeps, but the transfers form Nagpur to Kanha and back will be in a normal non-air conditioned vehicle, and the train travel will be in regular sleeper class.

The last date for booking these tours is the 10th April 2007. Train bookings cannot be guaranteed, unless you make bookings well in advance, as they depend o­n the availability of seats.

A 10% discount is applicable to regulars here, who have provided articles and pictures of previous tours. Do contact, if you qualify.

The package includes:
  • Accommodation
  • Food
  • Train travel from Mumbai to Nagpur and back
  • Travel from Nagpur to Kanha and back to Nagpur
  • Vehicles and driver for safari
  • Entry fees for vehicles and participants into the sanctuary
  • Forest guide
The package doesn't include:
  • Entry fees for cameras (which is charged per camera and varies quite a bit depending o­n what participants would like to take in)
  • Elephant safari – If a tiger is spotted away from the motorable parts, it is sometimes possible to approach closer o­n elephant back. Such rides are dependant o­n the situation at the time of the sighting and are a personal choice, and have not been included in the basic quote.
  • Food during the train travel.

This is a rough guide of the entry fees at Pench Tiger Reserve, to help prepare for planning any expenses.

Vehicle entry Rs. 100/- (Park - round charges will be extra as applicable)
Still camera Rs. 25/- per Day
Video camera Rs. 200/- per Day
Elephant ride:
Indian Visitors Rs. 60/- per Adult per hour and Rs. 40/- per Child (below 12 years.)
Overseas Visitors Rs. 300/- per Adult per hour and Rs. 200/- per Child (below 12 years.)
Cine documentary film Rs. 12,000/- per day
Video documentary film Rs. 6,000/- per day
Rules and regulations
  • Throwing litter is strictly prohibited
  • Making a noise in the jungle, taking food into the jungle and stepping out of the vehicle in any area except the designated points will not be allowed
  • Smoking and alcohol are not allowed inside the sanctuary, and this is non-negotiable. Any person found smoking inside the sanctuary or drinking or arriving drunk for the safari will be removed from the tour and no amount of his fees will be refunded.

Note: Another tour combines the Pench and Kanha Wildlife Reserves into a 4 day and 5 nights package and are schedules for 30th April, 4th May and 8th May. - itinerary
