Jeep Safaris in the high Himalaya

Many remote destinations are accessible by dirt roads that are not too different from the scenery (ruts and bumps that are not on the road are called scenery). The journey takes us to quaint villages, memorable expanses, places of natural beauty along unforgettable roads.
Jeeps cover considerable distances and are useful in exploring a big region with relative speed and comfort as compared with trekking, or using the unpredictable local transport systems. Accommodation and food can be arranged in local facilities or tents.
Good jeep safari trails are possible in Ladakh, Changthang, Spiti, Kinnaur and Banjar and it is possible to interlink these to form larger routes.
Transport, of course is in jeeps (Sumo, Qualis and the like) for larger groups, an additional utility vehicle transports camp equipment and the kitchen and staff for time efficiency.
Accomodation can be in tents or rest houses/hotels where available, or even in local homes in the case of cultural tours.
