A collection of free webmaster tools
Please note that I have not created any of these tools. These are simply free scripts I appreciate and find very useful, so I'm sharing them all in one place. Look on the links to the right for links to highly useful that stuff I can't put on this page.
Port search plugin
This tiny plugin allows you to search by port, service or trojan to find details on known baddies on particlular ports.
Sitemaps
If you wish to create a sitemap for your site, look no further than AuditMyPC - I know I'm singing their praises, but why not? The work is praise worthy. They have a Java applet for generating sitemaps, which is neat, easy to use and really fast. It also outputs your sitemap in a variety of formats, so that you can have your Google xml sitemap, and your Yahoo url list and while we are at it, an html sitemap for regular visitors who would like to find their way around your site. Simply brilliant - I always use it, and have never regretted it. And of course, its free.
Other sitemap options will require you to install some or the other software, or are too slow or..... I'll put them up in a couple of days when I get around to finding those lost links, just so that you can figure out what you want rather than me making the choice for you.
Producing your own videos for your site
CamStudio - Free Streaming Video Desktop Recording SoftwareThis is a free utility that lets you create streaming flash videos from regular avi files. Again, its free, but there is a small glitch. Internet Explorer users see it just fine, but you need to make a tiny adjustment for Netscape or Firefox:
Open the related HTML to the SWF you've just generated and look for the line starting with the "EMBED SRC" command ... Change the Width and Height values in this line to match values in the line starting with "OBJECT CLASSID". Save the file and you should be good to go ... |
