Programmes for Teachers

Teacher training through experiential education is a powerful means of encouraging responsible education and empowering teachers to handle students from the current, self-confident generation.

These modules grew from a need to help teachers communicate and connect effectively with students and find alternative means of encouraging discipline, initiative and motivation among students, which can be sustained by students as an attitude even in the absense of any external "controllers".

The idea in these modules is for teachers to explore their patterns of communication through experiential learning and attempt a shift from "domination" to "influence". Identifying means of communication that present the desired result as interesting and benificial to all concerned, as well as the objective, rather than a "rule" that is imposed.

Areas addressed in this module include:

  • Empathy and an understanding of perspectives of students and colleagues
  • Structure of sustainable discipline
  • Encouraging motivation in self and students
  • Managing conflict in classrooms
  • Encouraging individuality and identifying and managing genius, loners and other "solo" cases
  • Exploring means of attracting and maintaining attention to content
  • Inter-relating subjects with each other and other practical aspects of life
  • Role as sculptors of individuals rather than informers of specific subjects.
